Check out this recent video released by the Department of Energy. It hits all the right elements for targeting the mainstream EV consumer by mentioning convenience, safety, and lower overall operating costs.
Now, if only the automakers can catch on. This is the messaging we need for EVs in 2012.

LOL! I hope that was not you driving the red Volt- it rolled thru the stop sign without stopping! At least you cannot see the license plate;-)
A nice, simple, clear video- will make a good primer to start the education of folks about EVs, even if not about traffic laws;-)
