Shannon Arvizu, Ph.D., Founder and Principal

Dr. Shannon Arvizu is a plug-in vehicle policy and market research specialist with extensive knowledge of behavioral dynamics for EV adoption. Most recently, Dr. Arvizu has authored research on the role of entrepreneurial companies, major automakers, research organizations, advocacy groups, utilities, and state agencies in stimulating plug-in vehicle manufacturing within the U.S. automotive sector from 2003- 2010, entitled “The Plug-In Vehicle Network: Driving Change in the U.S. Auto Industry.” She has worked and presented research internationally and has provided market and policy research services to EV companies in Los Angeles. She graduated with a Ph.D. in the Sociology of Technology from Columbia University in New York, an M.A. from the American University in Cairo, and a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.

Robert Hall, Technology, Finance, & Operations

Robert Hall brings technical, financial, and operational experience to his work as a consultant in clean technology. He has worked as an automotive engineer for General Motors.  As an undergraduate in engineering at Cornell University, he designed the power transmission system for a prototype hybrid electric vehicle.  That vehicle won the first Ford Hybrid Electric Vehicle Challenge, in competition with teams of engineers from across the U.S. and Canada.  More recently, Mr. Hall has consulted for early stage cleantech ventures and other technology companies, providing strategy formulation, detailed financial modeling, and product development services.  He also has substantial operating experience managing complex technology development projects involving multiple teams of engineers. Early in his career, he worked as a management consultant in New York City. Mr. Hall graduated with honors from Cornell University with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. While at Cornell, he was named a General Motors Scholar. He also holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Tala Oszkay, Editor and Social Media Strategist

Ms. Oszkay is a publishing industry professional and social media strategist. Ms. Oszkay has executed major publicity campaigns and managed social media accounts for Dutton, an imprint of Penguin USA.  She currently works with Dr. Arvizu to produce content for GenerationE.org and MissElectric.com, as well conduct research related to social media and social change. She also maintains a position at the Milwaukee County Historical Society. Ms. Oszkay holds a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Lan Li, Video Production Lead

Ms. Li is an award-winning filmmaker and graduate of Barnard College’s Science and Society B.A. program. Her work has been recognized by National Geographic, the U.S. State Department, and, of course, thousands of subscribers to her YouTube Channel. In addition to music videos and travelogues, Ms. Li currently produces films showcasing student life and leadership at Barnard College, as well as spotlighting the latest in electric car action for MissElectric.com.
